Keep the Words Flowing
Ongoing One-Day Workshops
Have you been in past workshops and are hoping to return to a regular writing practice? Do you want to revive an idea for a story? Then jump back into your writing here, in one of our afternoon online workshops.
These sessions are a great fit for those who want to try Laguna Writers for the first time, or for past workshop participants who want to return, but can’t commit to weekly meetings right now. There are a few dates to choose from this fall, which may be purchased separately, or together in a discounted package.
We’ll write spontaneously in response to short prompts, and offer positive feedback for those who volunteer to share their work. Each two and a half hour online meeting focuses on a different theme, such as developing a three dimensional setting or character, playing with metaphors and similes, or using the natural world as inspiration. But participants are always free to use the prompts as springboards, and write anything they choose.
The free writing and guided feedback in these sessions will help you:
-

revisit past ideas for pieces and discover new ones
-

utilize the five senses and make your writing come alive
-

experiment with new characters
-

develop internal and external settings
-

have fun with words and play with language
-

loosen up, be experimental, and have some fun

The Setting and the Vibe
Back in 2000, Laguna Writers began in a studio apartment on Laguna Street in San Francisco. The in-person and on-line workshops are now held in a top-floor apartment near the beach. This is a quiet space to process, explore, and experiment with writing.
We call them workshops, not classes, because there is no homework and no additional supplies are necessary: you only need access to a pen and a pad of paper, or whatever device you like to write on. Think ocean views, cozy corners, warm coffee or tea, and a room full of supportive writers.
Join us for one of these on-line workshops, or sign up for two and get a special price!
Come as you are.
Reignite your creativity with an inspiring group of writers, and join us for an afternoon of helpful, supportive feedback in these weekend workshops.
